Bloggers You Need To Keep An Eye On This Year | A Girl & Grey | @agirlandgrey

Following 2018’s constant declarations of ‘blogging is dead’, I feel as though 2019 is the year that the blogosphere really thrives.

I was never concerned, really, when all of the *popular* bloggers started writing posts about the end of blogging and the blogosphere as we know it. Hordes of creatives were (and still are!) flocking to Instagram and abandoning their self-built sites all together, and while that may seem like a smart move to begin with, seasoned creatives will tell you that putting all of your eggs in the one basket is a risky move.

Take the early 2019 Instagram update that saw a swiping, tinder-like feed introduced – everyone lost their sh*t momentarily until order was restored and our Instagram feeds were back to normal again. Imagine that on a grander scale. What if Instagram simultaneously implodes and disappears from our iPhone screens altogether. What will we do then?

That’s why I truly believe that blogging is back in 2019. After all, it really is the only platform that us bloggers have total control over. Instagram and YouTube could literally disappear tomorrow and our blogs would still be here, full of our words and visual creations and endless potential.

And I think the bloggers I’m about to share with you in this post understand that. They consistently put their all into their blogs, year after year, and the work shows. Their Instagram is a beautiful expression of their work – yes – however their blogs are the *hub* of their creativity and hard work, and will be for years to come.

Here are the bloggers I think you need to keep an eye on this year – and I mean a *seriously close* eye. I think big things are happening for these seven babes, and just think about how amazing it will be to say you were there to see it all unfold?! Go show them your support and love, because it’s so obvious that they deserve it.

If I were to sum up Chloe’s content in three words it would be: eloquent, witty and funny as hell. She manages to write in such a sophisticated manner about the most relatable things – it’s kind of insane. Think lifestyle and high fashion photography with a twist of feminine wit, beauty and dating advice.

And you can tell Chloe was always meant to be a writer, because it’s something she honestly does so well. I especially loved Sometimes I Think Everybody Hates Me, Do I Even Want To Get Married? and How I Really Feel About My University Experience.

I think this year will be the year Chloe really shines through her blog, whether that’s by creating more honest, thought-provoking content, or by switching it up and taking some of the more personal stuff she shares on Instagram to her blog. I LOVE when she asks questions of her followers about funny dating/sex stories and shares them (anonymously, of course). I always cackle out loud at some of the responses she gets – and I think only Chloe would be able to take that kind of idea and turn it into something really meaningful and eloquent. Make sure to follow along here.

Kiara is an Australian travel blogger and vlogger, and her Instagram feed is one of my favourites. Her imagery is to.die.for and no matter how busy her schedule gets, she’s always stayed true to her blog as her main platform.

I think Kiara’s content is so powerful because she doesn’t ever take herself too seriously, yet the visual aspects of her content are Vogue-worthy. When reading her blog, you kind of get the idea that Kiara is a normal girl living her absolute dream life, and I love that for her.

Some of my favourite posts of Kiara’s are 15 Big And Little Goals For 2019, A Cosy Christmas Moment In Switzerland, and Stylish Canggu Bali Stay: Villa Blanc.

2019 is going to be major for Kiara because she’s *intending* to travel less this year, which hopefully means we get to see a little more interiors related content from her? Something that you don’t often see on Kiara’s Instagram feed is her incredible interiors style, but I’ve stalked seen enough pictures of hers to know that her home is absolute goals. Keep up with Kiara here.

If there is one creator that I’m absolutely obsessed with right now, it’s Suzie. Her moving vlogs were literally my go-to, and I’ve fallen into a little Suzie shaped hole when it comes to Instagram, too.

Her content just oozes fun and mid-twenties confidence and my twenty-six year old self cannot get enough. If you’re looking for fashion inspiration, THIS IS IT. I live for Suzie’s style and take on trends, but also her jewellery and tattoos, too. She’s basically the cool girl of the blogosphere and you are missing out if you’re not following along.

If you’re looking for a place to start, make sure to read A Note On Being Bossy, How To Wear Black Without Looking Like It’s Halloween 24/7 and The Lit List January.

I think 2019 is going to be absolutely major for Suzie. She’s just moved into a new apartment (which is totally gorg, btw), launched her new brand, Bossy, and is very obviously in a super positive, strong place in her life. Stay up to date with all things Suzie here.

Another Australian blogger to keep an eye on this year is my girl Laura. She is your go-to for all things beauty, and I can honestly say that her reviews are some of the most thorough I’ve ever read. Whenever I have a question about a product, I can always send Laura a DM and she gets back to me with everything I need to know about it.

A Letter To My Younger Self is one of the best posts Laura has ever written, however I do love her Skincare and Makeup roundups from 2018 as well, because they are so unbelievably in-depth and cover all bases.

And, if beauty isn’t your thing, I still think you should keep an eye on Laura this year, and here’s why. Her photography is insane – like, INSANE insane – and she’s also one of the nicest, most welcoming people ever.

I have a feeling her content is going to steer into a little more lifestyle based this year, which is fab because she has the most adorable relationship with her husband *ever*, as well as a v interesting life outside of her blog. Keep up with Laura here.

Sophie is the modern-age Carrie Bradshaw of Instagram, I swear. She has all of the best dating anecdotes with the most incredible style to match, not to mention the fact that her writing is beyond fab too.

I think the reason I love Sophie and her blog so much is for her honesty. She’s very transparent about her flaws and f*ckups and I truly wish that there were more bloggers like her in the world. She doesn’t aim to be perfect, nor does she pretend to be, yet she’s so utterly relatable and crazy beautiful at the same time.

Anyone that is navigating the dating world in 2019 *needs* to follow Sophie’s blog immediately, as does any girl between the age of 19 and 34. Honestly, every post of hers is worth a read, but Why I’m Not Setting Any Major Goals For 2019, The Problems With Dating In The Tinder Age and I’m Over Diet Culture And Ghosting! will all give you a perfect snapshot of how intelligent and brilliant Sophie is as a person and a writer.

If you’ve read Sophie’s blog before, you’ll agree with me when I say that 2019 can only be promising for her. With consistently fab content and a more authentic voice than most on the platform, there’s not much that Sophie can do wrong, and I really look forward to reading more of her work as she continues to grow and progress in life. Make sure to follow along here.

Are you even living if you don’t read Kate’s blog? I’ve been a KLV fan for years – back when she was better known as ‘ghOstparties’ and wrote mainly about beauty. Now, Kate covers a whole host of topics; from interiors and skincare to wellness and travel – there’s literally something for everyone on Kate’s blog.

I think the most appealing thing about Kate’s blog is that it always leaves me feeling inspired. Whether it’s her incredible imagery or her positive attitude towards life, I just love taking a scroll through Kate’s blog whenever I’m feeling a bit out of sorts. She always manages to cheer me up.

A few of her best posts as of late are Smoothies & Supplements For Feeling My Best, One Big Makeup Reshuffle For The New Year, and Looking Back At 2018.

One of the main things that draws me to Kate’s content is how original and creative it is. You can always tell an image is Kate’s when you’re scrolling through Pinterest or Instagram, and that’s because she stays true to her own personal style, while somehow managing to make sure that her content is always progressing and adapting to her changing lifestyle and personality.

Kate recently shared on her blog that she’s looking to create more in-the-moment posts, so that’s definitely something to keep an eye out for. She’s already published a bunch of brilliant blog posts this year too, which is always so exciting for a fangirl like me. (She’s got adorable cats too)! Follow Kate here.

Now, last but certainly not least, is Victoria.

Victoria is – *hands-down* – the most creative, exciting and influential blogger you could be following right now. Her imagery is beyond insane (I mean, did you see her NASA campaign?!) and she always puts 110% into anything she creates.

Just go and look at her blog right this second. There’s a bunch of brand new posts. And her YouTube channel? A bunch of brand new videos. What about her Instagram? Yep, there’s a bunch of new photos there too.

There’s no denying that Victoria is one of the hardest (if not the hardest) working woman in the field, and she’s also a PhD graduate. If you’re wanting to follow someone that works hard, is inspiring as hell, and also happens to have the most incredible style ever – Victoria is your girl.

How To Look Amazing Even When You Want To Be Casual, 5 Of The Biggest Blogging Myths Busted and A New Years Resolution For 2019 That We Could All Benefit From are just some of her recent blog posts that have consumed my evenings. I love that Victoria values long form content, and I rest assured knowing I can always visit her blog for a cosy drink-a-cuppa long read. Keep up with Victoria here.
