The Future of A Girl & Grey

The Future of A Girl & Grey

There comes a time in any career where you can feel a bit stagnant and unsure.

Unsure of whether you’re doing well, and unsure if the things you’re doing today are actually pushing you towards your end goal.

I think I’ve been reaching this point lately with my content.

A few weeks ago, I had to stop myself from sending a blog post live that I wasn’t super proud of. I realised at the last moment that publishing content I don’t really love is beyond counterproductive, so I binned the post and vowed to start fresh.

But that was after spending an entire day taking photos and researching the post, not to mention actually writing and proofreading the damn thing.

It got me into a bit of a funk, so I decided to step back from the blog for a little while. Not knowing what to write scares the hell out of me, and so those of you that follow me on instagram might have noticed that I was trying to get a grasp on what your favourite content to consume is. Fashion? Beauty? Think peices?

But then I read this post on Jacey’s blog, and it’s like a light bulb went off in my head.

“View yourself as another person would, and think “what can I share with my friend?”. Is it a new restaurant you tried out? A new Netflix show you love? Not every post has to be this outstanding moment. Viewers like real life too, and that’s something we can ALL relate to.”

Jacey {from Damsel in Dior} is such a huge inspiration to me because all of her content just seems so effortless. She puts out four to five {sometimes six!} posts a week and I devour them all. I guess the above quote kind of showed me how she keeps it so effortless – and that’s by keeping it real.

A blog is an online journal of sorts, after all.

So – think of this rambly post as the beginning of something new for agirlandgrey.com. You can expect to see way more chilled out content here on a more regular basis. I basically want to start creating stuff that you don’t need to block out an entire afternoon to read, ya dig?

I’m hoping this carries on over to my instagram, too. I notice that sometimes I just put up old pictures from my phone – when often I don’t really care that much about them. Don’t get me wrong – sometimes they do well, but I just feel really uninspired by that process, you know? I want to get more in touch with my creative side while at the same time creating fun and breezy content that’s still nice to read.

I also hope you guys like the new layout, etc, of the blog. I’ve been wanting to rework things for a while, and I finally took the leap and did it. It’s still very new so there might be a few broken links here and there lol so please forgive me for that.

I’m so glad to have you guys along for the ride. I love new things, so everything about my blog right now feels very exciting and inspiring. Fill me in with what’s new in your life in the comments below. I feel like we haven’t chatted in ages!

I love this girl! It’s important to love what you’re doing and be proud of all the amazing things you’re creating. Sometimes you have to hit those walls of “I need to churn out content!” And get sick of it to realise where your values lie. Can’t wait to see your new content!
