It’s not even winter yet, but we’ve already had the flu tear through our household. I’m still sick with it as I write this, but I know that my weakened immune system from getting swine flu as a teenager (lol yes, really) means that I’ll probably get sick again before the cold and flu season is through.
While I do love an excuse to take it slow, neither Harry or I have time to get sick, or even to be sick. I was able to take some time off over the weekend, but anyone who is self-employed will know that there’s really no such thing as a sick day.
I’ve always been a fan of utilising natural remedies wherever possible, and the flu is no exception. Echinacea, elderberry, ginger, lemon and manuka honey: you name it, I’ve consumed it within the past five days. And I truly do believe these ingredients help to shorten the duration of a virus, too. I also believe they assist your overall immunity after being unwell, which we all know is super important. You don’t want to experience that post-flu hangover for weeks on end, after all.
