Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas Gift Ideas | A Girl & Grey | @agirlandgrey

Whether you’re shopping for your BFF or your bae, Christmas gifting can be tricky.

It’s often said that men can be the hardest to shop for, but actually – I’ve learnt that men are relatively easy to shop for, because they hardly splurge on themselves.

Women, on the other hand, are good at buying themselves the things they need before it becomes dire – or before they’re on their last pair of socks.

So here is my 2019 Christmas Gift Guide – including some unisex gifts and gifts for the hard-to-shop for. I hope it leaves you with a handful of gifting ideas for the people you love most!

I personally believe a candle is a fab gift for anyone this Christmas – especially if you purchase from quality brands. I’m a major fan of Glasshouse Fragrances and their scent selection – the Tahaa and Coney Island are two of my favourites, but they also release a divine Christmas collection every year {I’ve been burning this one non-stop}!

If you’re after a higher end candle to gift a loved one, Diptyque is a cult status favourite. Their scent profile is second-to-none and their luxury packaging is perfect for those who love a minimal, yet chic vibe in their candles. Baies is their best selling scent, however Roses is just as beautiful, if not more classic.

There are so many options for gifting skincare – you can go for festive gift packs or you can opt for a bunch of singular products and customise a little Christmas gift pack of your own.

As for gift packs, anyone would love to receive the Mario Badescu Brightening Set or the Sunday Riley Vitamin C Set

If you’re looking to go the singular product route, I recommend anything by The Ordinary. Their Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Lactic Acid formulas are my favourite, and they’re super affordable if you’re on a tight budget. In terms of higher end skincare, I always recommend the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado or the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

And for anyone looking to make their skincare routine a little more eco-friendly, I’ve recently incorporated the Face Halo Makeup Removing Pads into my skincare routine. They’re these reusable makeup remover rounds that take off all your makeup using just water a.k.a. perfect for anyone with sensitive skin. The best bit? You can just chuck them in the wash with your delicates and reuse them time and time again! They last around 200 washes… insane, right? Any makeup/skincare/earth lover would be stoked to receive a pack of these in their stocking, I can 100% guarantee it.

Cookbooks and lifestyle books are always a fab idea for a Christmas gift – especially if you know what your giftee is into.

In terms of cookbooks, 5 Ingredients by Jamie Oliver might be the most useful book you’ll ever gift. If your recipient is into organic, wholesome food, A Whole New Way To Eat by Vladia Cobrdova is full of beautiful pictures and even more beautiful recipes. And, finally, New Pizza by Stefano Manfredi is an essential for any pizza lover in your life.

Lifestyle and coffee table books are just getting better and better these days, so you cannot go wrong with gifting your loved ones a coffee table book that suits their personality. Your Dream Life Starts Here by Kristina Karlsson is the ideal gift for any dreamers in your life. It’s full of inspiration and motivation for those go-getters you know and love. Otherwise, Love x Style x Life by Garance Doré is one of those books that you see on everyone’s coffee tables, as is Overview by Benjamin Grant.

I recently received the Sagittarius Star Sign Necklace by Reliquia and couldn’t help but think it would be the ideal Christmas gift for anyone in your life. Man/woman/child – it’s the kind of delicate and timeless piece they’ll love forever, and by gifting them a necklace in their zodiac sign, you’re showing them that you’ve put way more thought into what is usually a generic gifting occasion.

Otherwise, some other jewellery brands I love are Bahgsu Jewels for stone rings, Swarovski for glamour and Olivia Burton for watches and bracelets

Hands down one of my favourite gifts to give is the gift of organisation. kikki.K has long been my absolute favourite brand for stationery – especially their diaries and pens! I’ve been using the A5 Weekly Diary in Charcoal Grey for years, and I always love gifting it to my family and friends so they can be as organised as I like to think I am. And, if you’re wanting to step up your diary gifting game a little, you can always throw in a pack of the Metallic Metal Twist Pens that you see all over instagram as of late.

We’re all looking for ways to minimise the things we carry with us everyday, and that’s why I couldn’t recommend Orbitkey enough. Those of you that follow me on instagram know I’m obsessed with their Leather Key Organiser, and I carry it with me everyday. Did I mention all of their products are under $50? a.k.a. ideal if you’re on a budget!

Another essential item that can always be minimised is your wallet! I’m loving the kikki.K Textured Leather Card Holder in Black right now as it’s made me re-evaluate the things I bring with me everyday. Who needs 42 loyalty cards, really? The card holder carries only the essentials and nothing else! It would be the ideal gift for those who love a minimal vibe but don’t exactly have the right tools to get there.

Now, while most of the things I shared are unisex – like the Orbitkey Leather Key Organiser, the Mario Badescu Brightening Set and Stefano Manfredi’s New Pizza cookbook, there are a few other bits you could pick up for the guys in your life they are guaranteed to love.

The Sukin For Men Facial Moisturiser is a brilliant, useful Christmas gift for any guy you know, as is the Sukin For Men Facial Scrub. In terms of shaving, the KLIM Aqua Cool Shave Gel is an Australian made, eco-friendly alternative to your usual grooming products for men, as is their 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner. I don’t know about you guys, but the men in my life don’t exactly make a routine out of their grooming and skincare, so anything that is multi-purpose, quick to use and full of fab ingredients is ideal.

Merry Christmas & happy gifting guys! If you have any other fab Christmas gift ideas to add, make sure to leave them in the comments below. I could always use extra ideas!
