3 Things To Do This Weekend

3 Things To Do This Weekend

It’s finally the weekend…

… & I’m so ready to do a whoooole lotta nothing.

I’m currently sat writing this at my dining table. It’s Friday night, we’ve got nachos in the oven and three episodes of Sons of Anarchy to binge watch over our food-coma-inducing feast.

How are you preparing for your weekend, wherever you are? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m really bad at switching off over the weekend – like, really bad. Most Saturdays look very similar to your average Wednesday, with hour upon hour sat at my desk working. On Sundays I’m usually a little better at switching off, however there’s still at least four hours of laptop time then too.

In an effort to get better at taking time off and actually having a weekend, I’ve compiled a fun little to do list of sorts that I want to tick off this weekend. I know my readers are all hustlers at heart, so take this as your friendly reminder, lovely reader: HUSTLERS NEED WEEKENDS TOO. Here are three things you should do this weekend.

3 Things To Do This Weekend | A Girl & Grey

BAKE SOMETHING FUN

I tend to steer clear of baking during the week as I really don’t have the time to faff about with measuring cups and all that, but during the weekends I want to incorporate a little more time spent in the kitchen. As Harry and I are both v busy humans, our diets generally look like whatever we can whip up within half an hour with whatever ingredients we have on hand. Baking is something I kind of detest – but only because it requires precision and concentration – ain’t nobody got time for that. This weekend will involve blasting this playlist on our Google Mini and getting my hands covered in flour, butter and sugar. I’m thinking this Pumpkin Tres Leches is perfect for Halloween season, as is this Marbled Chocolate Cheesecake x Pumpkin Pie masterpiece.

WATCH SOMETHING FUN

… and by fun I mean something that involves murder and mystery, because duh. I spy a few newbies on my Netflix feed right now, including a horror film about a haunted orphanage – ding, ding, ding! Looks like we have a winner

READ SOMETHING FUN

Yet again, by something fun I mean something that involves murder and mystery and a whoooole lotta plot twists. Right now I’m reading Friend Request, which is one of those books that builds tension in such a way that you’re left feeling super uneasy about everything. We do love a psychological thriller, after all.

What are you upto this weekend?

Ooh, anything pumpkin flavour that’s a dessert and I’m all in! It’s actually Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so as long as I get to eat pumpkin pie I’ll be happy!

These are such simple activities, yet are so much fun. Nothing better than immersing yourself in a good book especially.

I’ve actually really been getting into baking lately, I made a great batch of scones. Now that I’ve done something successfully it’s just made me like baking even more haha
