Another Lush Haul

Another Lush Haul

Let’s settle this: I LOVE LUSH.

I always have loved Lush and it’s quite possible I always will.

They’re the one store that stocks almost everything I’ve ever needed in terms of skincare, haircare, and #treatyoself status items {I’m looking at you $9 single use bath bombs}. They also continue to release products that end up at the top of my ‘to purchase’ list {anyone else have one of these?} and I’m yet to have a bad experience with any products I’ve bought from there.

I recently took a trip down to Brisbane and thought it would be the perf opportunity to grab a few bits. You guys know I’m absolutely mad for Lush skincare, and a few of their items are actually staples in my routine {more to come on this soon!}, so I took the opportunity to refresh my rotation. I think it’s good to change things up once in a while, and although my skin LOVES my current routine, I always jump at the chance to try new things {except for moisturiser – and you’ll see why soon}.

First things first: cleanser. My staple is Angels On Bare Skin, and that’s because it’s a breakouts worst enemy. It contains lavender to calm the skin, rose to soothe the skin, and kaolin to absorb excess grease and oil. It’s also made on a base of ground almonds which works as a gentle exfoliant. It’s basically the best way to clean your face if your skin is angry/sensitive/painful. It’s gentle enough to not cause any more damage {as well as heal the issues you’ve already got}, and it’s got the exact right ingredients to naturally combat acne and dryness.

With all that said, my skin has been pretty good lately. My only issues are under-the-skin spots along my jawline {helloooo hormones!} and a few tiny blemishes after a McDonalds binge or too little sleep. Because of this, I really wanted to branch out and try something different. They say if it’s not broke you shouldn’t try to fix it, but as a skincare-obsessed/ever-curious-blogger, I just had to get something new and fun.

And that something is Let The Good Times RollThis cleanser is a buttery, exfoliating cleanser that smells like vanilla and caramel and buttery popcorn {a.k.a. it might be my favourite thing, ever}. It’s made on a base of maize and polenta which gives just the right amount of exfoliant, as well as cinnamon, to stimulate and energise the skin. It doesn’t have any calming properties, per se, but it does leave my skin feeling ultra smooth, ultra soft, and glowy af. Definitely pick this one up if you don’t have any major skin concerns – it’s super lovely and an absolute pleasure to use. It’s also got popcorn in it, because Lush is nothing if not extra af.

A small bottle of Honey I Washed The Kids is the next thing I picked up, and I did this because I’ve been having some irritation issues in my armpit area from the soap I’ve been previously using. I figured going back to an old favourite would do the trick, and it’s worked brilliantly. I simply apply a pea sized amount of this stuff to a porous sponge, fluff it up under the water {lotsa suds!} and then wash my entire body with it. If you’ve tried this stuff before, you’ll know how incredible it smells, but if you’re a newbie to all things Lush, just know it smells like vanilla and honey and caramel and ohhhhh my god it’s absolutely incred. If you’re not a shower gel kinda gal/guy, they also sell this stuff in solid soap form {which is bloody fab too}.

I picked up another tub of Celestial while I was there, which is my go-to moisturiser. When I say go-to, what I really mean is that THIS IS THE ONLY MOISTURISER I WILL EVER USE ON MY FACE. This stuff is gorg gorg gorg and perfect for my ultra-sensitive skin. Almond milk and almond oil are packed with vitamin e, to help soothe and heal skin, and cocoa butter and dove orchid extract are the perfect way to moisturise your skin without overdoing it. Also – its key ingredient is vanilla water, which {if you haven’t realised yet} is perfect for me. I’m kinda a fan of all things dessert…

And finally, the last thing I picked up was a small tub of Ocean Salt. I usually save buying this stuff for special occasions as it’s a little pricy, but it’s such an effective product so I really don’t mind picking it up a little more than I should. This stuff is actually super nostalgic for me as it’s actually the first Lush product I ever tried. I bought a huge tub, which lasted me months and actually saved my skin during my first Canberra winter. Now that we live minutes away from the beach I find I don’t need it as much, but it’s still such a fab product. Have I mentioned that enough? I bloody love this stuff. Obviously sea salt is fab for your skin – super exfoliating and really handy for cleansing and clearing up any breakouts, but the trio of citrus in this little pot is the real winner. Grapefruit, lime and lemon are your skins best friend mid-breakout and help to give you a super glowy complexion. If that wasn’t enough, this cleanser also contains avocado and coconut oils to replenish the skin after it gives it a brilliant clean. It’s just so so great.

Omg, this blog post is so dreamy….
Believe it or not, I’m new to Lush skincare – although I’m deeply invested in their bath bombs (like, I spend far too much buying one use products, but #selfcaresuunday bubble baths right?! 🙂 )

I have added most of these to my wishlist…. thanks for the recommendations Sharni. Honey I Washed The Kids sounds like my cup of tea, oh and Let The Good Times Roll – wow, popcorn in the packaging, trust Lush! Hehehe

    Have a lovely weekend!

I always find going into LUSH so overwhelming… there are just way to many products to choose from! But I do love their lip scrubs!
