January In Review

I feel like January went by both fast and slow. There were moments where I couldn’t keep up, and others where things went so slowly I was almost 96% sure I was stuck inside the matrix.

For a while now I’ve wanted to start an end-of-month-wrap-up kind of series here on agirlandgrey.com where I talk about the things I got up to – particularly the things I wrote about on the blog and my thoughts on that content.

In 2018 my aim is to live a more aware life and spend more time being present and feeling grateful and giving recognition to somewhat small achievements, whether that be discovering new recipes or receiving products from my favourite brands in the post.

A large part of being a blogger/online influencer is looking and working ahead at all times, and so often those small achievements get lost in the wayside and forgotten about in the blur of deadlines and emails and content creation. That’s why I’m so excited for this series {& I hope you are too!}. I know it’s going to make such a huge difference to my self-worth mindset and also help me get more creative when it comes to conceptualising the things I want to write about, the photographs I want to take and the topics I want to cover.

With that said – let’s get to it!

JANUARY IN REVIEW

Everything wrapped up quite quickly after Christmas, and as a result of that I stepped into 2018 with a totally fresh perspective {& house!}. I set myself a bunch of goals to achieve for the year, which I chatted about in my Hello 2018 post, and proceeded to create a Summer Bucket List to help achieve some of those goals, as well as tick off a few other more personal ones at the same time.

I reignited my love of herbal tea earlier on this month, and decided I should share the 5 Summer Teas I cannot get enough of at the mo’ as well as a Green Tea Sugar Scrub to soften even the most sensitive of skin, and then because I’m nothing if not an oversharer, I also wrote about my Evening Skincare Favourites.

My obsession with anything and everything true crime related is ever-growing, and so because of this I decided to launch a new series on the blog – the first of which was about The Unsolved Disappearance of Jaryd Atadero. You guys seemed to really enjoy this kind of content, so I’ve been working on the next case which will be on the blog in the next few weeks.

I shared a few recipes this month: from my Grapefruit and Avocado Salad to Avocado Toast Toppers and even a Peaches and Cream Smoothie. I also chatted about The Only Cookbook You Need This Year and shared a belated What I Read post from the last two months of 2017.

After the positive feedback from my true crime post, I decided it was time to write about something else that I’m low-key obsessed with… and that’s blogging. I shared the 3 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting A Blog, and while it may be quite polarising content, it’s also a topic I’m beyond passionate and excited about.

To round out the month, I spent some time thinking ahead and in doing so combined a bit of a His and Hers Guide To Valentine’s Gifting. I got to play around with graphics and and imagery a lot for this post, and it totally inspired me to create more of these kind of blog posts in the future.

And last – but certainly not least – I launched The Edit! I really wanted to give you guys a place to shop all of my favourites and wishlist items that I so often talk about on my blog and social media accounts, and creating The Edit was just the perfect way to do so. It’s already been so successful, with a bunch of you messaging me about how much you love it {& how you’ve bought yourself some Luna Sleeping Night Oil!} which makes me so beyond happy you wouldn’t even understand.

Thank you so much for all of your support over the last month! My readership has almost tripled since this time last year and so it’s really exciting to have so many of you visiting, reading and engaging with my content. Make sure to let me know what you got up to in January in the comments below. I’m in the mood for a big old chat!

Let me know your thoughts on the post.
