My Christmas Mug Collection

My Christmas Mug Collection

If there’s one thing I love during the Christmas season, it’s hot drinks…

…whiiiiiich probably doesn’t make much sense as it’s kinda scorching hot here in December, but I still don’t mind sweating my way through a festive hot chocolate or cup of tea. There’s just something so hygge about the whole routine of it.

The one thing that makes a cup of tea all the more cosy is an adorable mug to drink it out of, which is why I’ve spent a couple of years collecting the best Christmas mugs I could find.

I have gotten rid of a few recently as they’ve chipped or I’ve just outgrown them, but here are the ones I cannot live without during the festive season.

I bought the Fair Isle mug for $3 from Kmart, the Santa and Penguin mugs for $5 from Coles, and the other mugs are all Maxwell & Williams. The Silhouette collection are sold out, however¬†the cutesy Lappland ones are still in stock [and happen to be my favourite mugs ever] but be quick! There was only two boxes left at my local store – I’d recommend shopping online to ensure you get them before they’re gone.¬†

Do you have a mug collecting habit?

I feel like the right mug can make the tea/hot chocolate drinking experience all the more enjoyable. Writing this out now, I realise that’s so weird! But I bet there are so many of you that always reach for a certain mug to drink your morning brew out of, so perhaps it’s not all that weird.

I definitely prefer a larger mug that I can really grasp in my hands. I’m also a sucker for cute patterns, which is probably why I love the Maxwell & Williams Lappland design so much, and while I love the Santa and Penguin face mugs [shown above] they’re made of really thin porcelain so they get really hot to hold. I like a thicker mug for hot, herbal tea that I can really get my hands around.

What’s your preferred mug? Or do you just reach for whatever is closest in the cupboard?
