Peaches & Cream Green Smoothie

Peaches & Cream Green Smoothie

With the warmer weather comes a need for simple, quick and cooling breakfasts. I don’t like spending any more time in the kitchen than I need to during this time of the year, so smoothies have kinda become my go-to when I’m unprepared.

They’re also perfect for on-the-go, or if you’re like me and wake up most mornings feeling lazy af. And they’re kinda fun? Like you can basically create any flavour combination you could dream of, which is how I came up with the concept of a peaches and cream smoothie.

I love peaches, and I love cream, and we all know by now that I love dessert – so the fact that I was able to kind of embody that flavour within a smoothie is beyond fab. I also incorporated some greens and some superfoods to make it a 10/10 recipe. I’m all for starting the day out right.

Here’s how I make my Peaches & Cream Green Smoothie.

makes two smoothies or one hayUGE smoothie if you’re feeling especially hangry

2 yellow peaches, sliced

1 – 2 cups of spinach

1/2 cup coconut chunks or shaved coconut

2-3 cups unsweetened almond milk

2-3 tbsp unsweetened coconut yoghurt

2 tsp maca powder

2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste

Chuck all ingredients in a high powered blender and blitz for 2-5 minutes, or until all ingredients are broken down. Pour into your vessel of choice {I love a jar} and serve immediately! I find this is more of a smoothie to chew. That sounds SO weird but the coconut doesn’t 100% break down sometimes but I kinda love that. A change up in texture is nice and the ‘roughness’ of it is fab for digestion.

The incorporation of maca powder in this smoothie is fab for you – especially if you’re a woman. It assists the body in balancing hormones, improving memory function and regulating moods. The spinach is high in niacin and zinc – which we should all know by now are incredible for your skin – as well as iron, calcium and protein. I opted for dairy free milk and yoghurt to reduce inflammation, and the coconut is high in healthy fats. The addition of vanilla is to make everything taste desserty {anyone else obsessed with vanilla?} and the peach is just for fun {& fiber}!

Let me know if you give this smoothie a go – I’d love to see your creations on instagram!
