Where to Eat on the Sunshine Coast: Paradise Arcade

Where to Eat on the Sunshine Coast: Paradise Arcade

It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these posts, which is kind of odd because they’re my favourite to write! A couple of weekends ago Harry and I went to Paradise Arcade, which is a new-ish Mexican restaurant in Noosa Heads – I think it opened only a couple of months ago.

We arrived there at about 4:30pm on a Saturday, which was probably the worst time to go because it was crazy busy, but we managed to grab a small table outside. If you go there – sit outside! It’s so so worth it. There’s an amazing breeze, and you sit beneath beautiful palm trees that are strung with lights. The view is second to none as the sun goes down.

Now, Harry and I LOVE Mexican food and could eat it for every meal! We decided to order a bunch of small plates so we could try lots of different flavours, and we (obviously) weren’t disappointed.

To start, we of course had the chips and guac (I mean, isn’t that an essential when eating mexican?) – which came topped with hibiscus seasoning. Have you ever tried it? It’s kind of sweet and tangy and took the already amazing guacamole to the next level.

Alongside the chips and guac, we had the fried chicken which came out covered in a spicy, cream sauce and lots of pickles and jalapenos (my favourite)!

We also ordered the loaded fries which, if I’m honest, were absolutely life-changing.

The fries were topped with pico de gallo, guacamole, pickled cactus, pickled chili, baja cream and queso fresco. I don’t really know what most of those things are, but these fries were insanely good. Hands down the best I’ve ever had – and trust me when I say that I’ve eaten a tonne of fries in my lifetime!

For our mains, we ordered a trio of tacos: grilled fish, spicy short rib and crispy fried chicken, as well as a couple of the kingfish tostadas.

And do I even need to say it? I think you can tell from the pictures that everything tasted so much better than we ever thought it would!

As I said before, the view is second to none as the sun goes down, but the overall vibe of Paradise Arcade is what’ll bring us back. There was old school Kanye West blaring out of the speakers, the waiters were super chill and friendly, and of course the food was phenomenal.

Did I mention they serve margaritas on tap..? No? Well I have now!

Make sure you get down to Paradise Arcade before it becomes ‘the place to be’, because they don’t do reservations! It’s first in – best dressed, and I can see hordes of people flocking here over the holidays to get their Mexican (or tequila) fix!

Let me know which Sunshine Coast restaurant you want me to feature next on the blog! I’m always open to suggestions.

Sharni xo
